Hi! I wanted to share a little bit about me and how I came to write this blog, this is all very new to me but here we go! I’m Emma and I live in beautiful Norfolk with my two young sons, my husband and our dog Bella. We live in a three bedroom bungalow that we have been renovating for three years on a budget and with two small boys, it's not always easy but I really love making our ideas come to life. It really was granny chic galore when we moved in, layers of textured wallpaper EVERYWHERE. I was five months pregnant with Ted and Archie was one so not the most ideal timing but it was the perfect property for us. We now live very close to my parents so naturally spend a lot of time with them. Mum and I share a lot of similarities, we love gardening, reclaimed vintage and making a house a home without breaking the bank and I could easily hang out with her everyday. We have one of those relationships where I call her up to quickly tell her something and we are still on the phone twenty minutes later, I don't even know what we talk about!
In 2017 Mum and I began selling home ware, crafts and posies grown from the garden at local markets. From there we began experimenting with drying a variety of flowers which in quite quick concession turned in to making and creating dried floral wreaths with vines and flowers from our gardens. Since 2018 we have solely focused on perfecting the art of real flower wreaths alongside hosting seasonal workshops. Thanks to the support from our Instagram followers things have just gone from strength to strength. The Cosy Shed definitely wouldn’t be the same without them. It definitely was not the path we planned, but they do say things happen for a reason and we have never looked back.
We have found, especially recently, that we receive a lot of messages via Instagram with very similar questions and queries. We are always happy to offer advice and help where we can but we decided a blog is a great platform to share information, so here we are. The blog will be sharing different aspects of my life from drying flowers and wreath making, snippets of Norfolk and beyond, seasonal gardening, thrifty finds and a little home inspiration thrown in.
Hope to see you next time,
Emma x
